Our History

The group was founded in 1978 in Braintree in Essex to cater for the needs of gay people. Due to local demand, the East London and Essex Borders Group was established as a separate and independent group in April 1982.

Having celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2007, we are now into our 31st year, having celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2012, which in the world of local social gay groups is some achievement.  As of 2015 a restructuring occurred. However, the members are looking forward to future celebrations in due course.
