Welcome to Octopus gay social group. The Octopus group has been in existence for over 30 years. However, in 2015 a restructuring occurred and a new group formed as a result.
Octopus is a social group offering friendship to its members. We meet on a weekly basis in our members’ homes where tea, coffee and light snacks are provided. The group is aimed at a friendship group to support its members. The Friday evening events normally start at 8.30pm.
Average attendance at these events is between 10-15 people. Some of the events are held in the Essex area around Romford, whilst others are held in the East london area.
We welcome new members to attend. The cost of attendance is £3 which goes towards the cost of tea, coffee and light snacks. There are however no annual membership fees for joining.
Take a look at our diary sheet to see where the next event will be held. The diary sheet is sent to all members on a monthly basis.
Our social events provide an opportunity for gay people to meet, make friends with others, obtain mutual help and exchange information and experiences. We don’t aim to compete with the commercial scene, but feel that we are complementary to it.
Although we are based on the east side of London, we have members in various parts of the capital and, indeed, the whole of the UK. The group is supported by a regular membership. Why not come along and see if this is for you? You will be assured of a warm welcome.
